The Art & Science of Anatomy in Yoga

Join Allison Tomotsugu of Pure Yoga for a unique teacher training that uncovers the beautiful mysteries of the human body and how they relate to the practice of yoga.

Understanding the structure and function of our complex bodies is the most empowering tool for longevity in practice. Whether you’re a qualified teacher or a yogi on a quest to learn more about your practice, this training seamlessly blends the art and science of human anatomy for an embodied understanding of what we’re made of.

In the course we will cover in detail:
+ body movements and functional range patterns
+ the structure and function of the various joints and muscles in the body
+ muscular contractions and neuromuscular connection
+ muscular energetics related to asana
+ trouble shooting injuries for longevity and best practice

We relate everything we learn to the practice and teaching of yoga by looking at how to move with anatomical intelligence and energetic awareness. Using the well of yoga asanas as our canvas we explore the endless possibilities of movement and alignment to create best practices that will last a lifetime.
