Playa Pelada has a reef just offshore and a tidal blowhole. SIBU Sanctuary rescues and rehabilitates animals like coatimundi and white-faced monkeys. Just north, the beach at Ostional Wildlife Refuge is a nesting site for olive ridley turtles.

Getting there
~ Best option is flying into Liberia (LIR) arriving mid day. Bodhi Tree will organize the 2hr shuttle to retreat.
~ You can also fly to San Jose (SJO) but you will be responsible to fly to LIR or the smaller Nosara airport via FlySansa.com. Bodhi Tree can arrange transfers. If not, it’s a 5 hour drive from SJO you are responsible for booking.
