Program Overview
Teaching Methodology & Sequencing
Learn to teach an all levels yoga class. Build the confidence to create a safe and intelligent sequence. Practice strong communication, find your authentic voice and learn public speaking techniques. Learn effective cueing for all bodies and abilities. Gain the knowledge to apply modifications, variations and support with props. Demonstrate your skills by guiding your peers through a final practicum.

Yoga Anatomy & Asana
Learn and study the basics of the human body which will include an overview of all tissues, joints, muscles, organ systems and their functions. Focus will be on the fundamentals of movement, biomechanics, and how it applies to yoga and beyond. We offer the most current information on modern day movement principles. Our holistic approach empowers students to gain an understanding of their own bodies, as well as cues to guide everyBODY safely and efficiently. Gain an understanding for common yoga injuries and how to avoid and have a sustainable practice for life. A deep dive into all your favorite postures with focus on alignment.

Yoga Philosophy & History
Learn how it began, the lineages and philosophies that inform our practice today, and a modern application of yogic texts (Yoga Sutras & Bhagavad Gita), philosophy and wisdom. We’ll dive deep into the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, with a strong emphasis on the 8 Limbs of Yoga. The Yamas & Niyamas will be woven into our meditations, asana practices, lectures, group work, discussions, and self-inquiry. You will learn what it means to truly LIVE your yoga, on and off the mat, in every aspect of your life.

Meditation & Pranayama
Through a combination of experiential and theoretical exploration, you’ll establish the foundation, comfort, and building blocks for a daily meditation practice. As part of the curriculum, we’ll also explore core teachings, theories, and different forms of meditation through both a yogic and more secular mindfulness lens (lecture, discussion, and practice). You will explore pranayama; the formal practice of learning how to intentionally control and expand the breath; which is the heart of yoga. Take these tools into your everyday life to help manage stress, create focus and optimize your health.

Diversity & Inclusion
Exploring diversity and inclusion in the yoga industry. While diversity and inclusion-based training is a lifelong journey, participants will begin to dive into a number of topics that explore best practices and next steps in creating safe spaces for all yogis, especially through the teaching lens. A culturally safe discussion-based learning program will challenge participants to unpack some of the realities the yoga community faces when it comes to diversity and inclusion.

Business/Ethics of Yoga
Learn how to build a sustainable teaching career. We will explore in detail how to set yourself up as an effective yoga professional. An introduction to navigate all logistics of teaching in different environments including pay, insurance and taxes. Learn to manage your time, build your classes & workshop numbers. Discussion will include how to get started and break into the industry. Dive into how to create a strong consistent following which will ultimately lead to a rewarding career.
